Set the Table - Perfect Fall Napkins

When I found these napkins, I just couldn't put them down.

There was something about the rich bronze background, warm fall colours, and coppery pinks that got to me.

To me, they were the perfect fall napkins.

I knew they would pair with the tone in the pink napkins I already had.

I decided a bronze charger, white plates with interesting borders, and one plate in a sort of burnt orange would bring it all together.

More warmth was added with copper stemmed wine glasses and some fall chrysanthemums.

The maple leaf candleholders were made by a friend, Colleen Leonard.

I just love them and the colour adds to the warmth of the table.

Set the Table - Autumn in Blue & Grey

I sometimes like to use colours

 that are not traditional for fall decorating.

Blue is a favourite colour for me in decorating.

An untraditional colour scheme of blue and grey have been paired to achieve a table that is autumnal but a bit different. 

The centrepiece is a collection of painted dollar store pumpkins and blue velvet pumpkins resting on a small piece of cedar rail fencing.

Lanterns fill in some of the spaces and add a little height.

The foundation for the table is a wool throw in Muted Blue Stewart tartan.

On top of the throw are round bronze-coloured chargers.

The plates are square and we used a dinner plate and salad plate in grey called Martillo Fog.

On top of the grey dinner plate another dinner plate, Adrianna, is placed at right angles.

The salad plate is placed at right angles to the second dinner plate.

The stack of plates is topped off with a white pumpkin soup bowl.

Grey linen napkins and stainless steel flatware.

I like that the chargers, lanterns and a couple of brown pumpkins pick up the light brown colour in the throw.

I love the combination of pattern and understated colour.
